Local business invitation to WorldSkills SquadUK selection

WorldSkills SquadUK Selection Open Day

Wednesday 3 November 2010 (10am - 12.30)

North Warwickshire  Hinckley College  World Skills UKNorth Warwickshire & Hinckley College cordially invite local representative of business and commerce to join us at the Nuneaton Campus for an introduction to the WorldSkills SquadUK selection.

You will also get the opportunity to see some of the highly skilled young people competing for a place in the SquadUK. If selected these young people will get the chance to compete in WorldSkills competition in London next year.

About WorldSkills

North Warwickshire & Hinckley College (NWHC) will be the place to be for young people from across the country who will be striving to compete in the WorldSkills Competition. 

The SquadUK selection will take place over the 3rd, 4th and 5th November 2010 at the Nuneaton campus of the college and will be in areas such as:

• Beauty therapy
• Confectionery
• Cooking
• Electronics
• Fashion technology
• Floristry
• Graphic Design
• IT PC network support
• Jewellery
• Landscape Gardening
• Mechanical engineering CAD
• Mobile Robotics
• Restaurant Service
• Web design

The WorldSkills competitions are held annually, both at regional and national levels, with the aim of encouraging people across the UK to excel in their vocational skills, lift standards of training and promote our world class skill base and competitiveness.

If successful, the most outstanding National finalists of the competition will be considered for potential inclusion in a team that goes on to represent the UK at a WorldSkills Competition. The WorldSkills Competition is supported by our own government, devolved Nations and a host of other business, industry, education and training partners.
